Recently developed heat sensitive foam, made available from research during the NASA space programme. Body heat generated causes the memory foam to mould itself to the shape of the body whist lying on the mattress, thus giving a ‘tailor made’ fit to your individual body shape.

Tufted describes a construction method used in some mattresses.  Towards the end of the manufacturing process, the entire mattress construction is squeezed together, while thin rods are inserted to permanently hold the mattress under tension.  (These are typically held in place by small thin pieces of white plastic, often visible on the outside of the mattress along with their characteristic 'dimples').

The result is that tufted mattresses are firmer.
